It is becoming preferable, both environmentally and economically, to upgrade building structures rather than to demolish them and rebuild them. On the pictures below is shown a construction of the strengthening interventions of a three-story reinforced concrete building in Glyfada, Athens. This project involved increasing of 66 R/C columns their cross-sections with the application of new steel reinforcement and concrete. Interventions were also carried out at the foundation of the building.
