Tips to compute the height of riser for stair flooring

In this construction video tutorial, you will learn in details how to work out and fix the height of riser in stair flooring.

Suppose the construction of the stair is completed. Now the flooring with riser will be started. At this time the calculation of riser height is very crucial.

The height of the floor finish level from upper floor to lower floor is taken as 2790 mm or 2.79 m

No of riser is taken as = 18 numbers

The following is applied to find out the height of riser for stair flooring :-

FFL to FFL Height/No. of Riser – Marble thickness (suppose 15 mm)

While going to finding out the height of riser, the thickness of marble is also included. So, we have to deduct the thickness of the marble to get the actual height of the riser.

By putting the values, we get the following :-

2790/18 – 15mm = 140 mm

So, the height of the riser is 140 mm.
